A water clock keeps time by controlling water. Like any ordinary clock, Jagyeongru, a traditional Korean water clock, suppresses every fluctuation so that time can be measured evenly. Re is inspired by its form but inverts this. Water passes down through suspended vessels and falls onto a limestone. Fluctuation is not corrected but received, and the stone records it as traces that do not disappear.
Re does not show what time it is. It shows that time has passed.

The work Re is a method to reinterpret the structure of water clocks and transform them into ecological and ontological time devices.

From left to right, the passage of time becomes visible. Small-scale test samples were installed outdoors for 24 days. Exposed to changing weather, the work interacts with its environment.
The materials for these samples were reused from previous works.

This installation transforms live data about global conflict into a slow, sensory system of water drips and sound. It examines how constant exposure to crisis dulls emotional response, inviting viewers to reflect on their own processes of desensitization through quiet repetition and delayed recognition.

The project began with a question: If I were to express this life in another world, how might it take shape? It led to a fictional space where ambiguity and change are embraced. Inspired by the artist's personal experience, the work reimagines the post-apocalypse not as an end but as a space of becoming and renewal.
It is raining heavily is a poetic light installation exploring diasporic existence in a fabulative world. Using the metaphor of a boat's journey across a post-apocalyptic landscape, the work reflects on renewal, transformation and uncertainty.
At the center is a flashlight with a touchpad, a fragile but persistent boat. Visitors send light signals through touch. Mirrored lighthouses reflect them back, creating a silent dialogue of presence and absence.

Lahaina noon
This project shows and sounds out the activities of organisms that vary with the angle and position of the sun. Transparent hoses, each standing for a different organism, reproduce these activities with a sound of their own.
Water-filled hoses driven by Arduino follow the sun's path and turn ecological rhythms into a shared sensory space. Their signals slowly converge in Lahaina noon, the short moment when shadows disappear and time is felt together rather than alone.
